Turkey's Energy Minister Fatih Donmez stated on Monday that his country's gas supply contracts with Russia are long-term and take into account world prices and volumes.

"We have long-term contracts with Russia. Due to market conditions, I cannot disclose the price. Still, they take into account world prices and volumes," Donmez told local media TVnet in an interview, adding that Ankara "isn't looking for alternative sources of gas supplies at the moment." Russia is one of the largest gas suppliers to Turkey, providing approximately 44% of the country's needs.

Commenting on the European energy crisis, the minister said Turkey would be willing to mediate talks to find a solution. He also announced Turkey and Bulgaria would sign a gas supply deal tomorrow that will last for at least 13 years, without specifying the agreed gas volumes.
