Former chairman of Donald Trump's 2017 inaugural fund, Thomas Barrack, was arrested on Tuesday on federal charges, according to a report published by NBC News on Tuesday.
The charges against Trump's former close associate are expected to be revealed soon, but seem not to be connected to the inaugural fund.
Barrack has been known as Trump's longtime friend and the founder of Colony Capital, the equity company from which he resigned as CEO and chairman over the past year.
