Reverand Todd Sheridan Yeary, a former Federal Aviation Administration air traffic controller, said that something likely happened moments after the medevac airplane's wheels left the ground to cause it to crash, NBC reported.
"Something happened rather catastrophically after the aircraft lifted off," Sheridan said, adding they just didn't know what it was yet. He stated that the model of the jet was "very reliable," calling what happened "very unusual."
The United States National Weather Service reported that the air temperature at the time of the crash was around 49 degrees Fahrenheit (9 degrees Celsius), with light rain, some fog, and a wind gust of 30mph.
