Iran Air suspends Beirut flights amid tensions

EPA-EFE/STRINGER

Iran Air has stopped all flights to Beirut due to ongoing Israeli airstrikes targeting Hezbollah in southern Beirut, according to Iranian media. The decision was announced by the Tasnim news agency, citing increased safety concerns.

The flag carrier's suspension of flights is indefinite, as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah continue to escalate in Lebanon.

The news comes shortly after Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was reportedly moved to a secure location in the country as security measures increased, following the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
