Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday that any strike on Iran's nuclear facilities would be "a serious provocation" after media reports claimed that Israel is considering attacking nuclear sites in response to last week's Iranian missile strike.
"If plans or threats to attack peaceful nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran are implemented, this will be a very serious provocation," Lavrov told journalists.
Furthermore, the Russian top diplomat ensured that Iran's nuclear activities are under control and regularly controlled by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He added that the IAEA "does not see any signs that Iran has started to transfer its nuclear program to a military channel."
