AWS, General Catalyst partner to drive AI in health care

Amazon Web Services (AWS) and venture capital firm General Catalyst announced on Monday they have launched a multi-year collaboration aimed at advancing artificial intelligence in health care. The partnership will focus on creating AI-driven solutions for predictive and personalized care, operational efficiency, diagnostics, and patient engagement.

General Catalyst will rely on AWS as its preferred cloud provider, benefiting from its range of services and expertise in deploying AI and machine learning in health care.

"AWS and General Catalyst believe that AI has immense potential to effect meaningful change in global health care," said AWS CEO Matt Garman. Meanwhile, General Catalyst's CEO Hemant Taneja added both companies "aim to establish a flywheel of innovation and adoption, transforming not just health care but other industries."

Bank of Canada keeps interest rate at 0.5%
The Bank of Canada (BOC) decided to maintain its target for the overnight rate at 0.5%. The Bank Rate is correspondingly 0.75% and the deposit rate is 0.25%.
