United States Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated on Thursday following the NATO defense ministers meeting in Brussels that no party will achieve everything it hopes for in Ukraine peace negotiations.
"No one is going to get everything they want in Ukraine," Hegseth underscored, warning that all countries involved will have to face "hard realities." He emphasized that "everything is on the table" in US President Donald Trump's conversations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
Referencing the possibility of restoring Ukraine's 2014 "border states," the defense secretary declined to interpret Trump's intentions, but said those will be "realistic" and "coming from a position of strength."
