Palestinian militants launched an offensive against Israel on Saturday, firing dozens of rockets, the Associated Press reported. Air raid sirens sounded across Israel, including in the capital of Tel Aviv. According to preliminary reports, several people were injured and one person died.
The Israeli Defense Forces also claimed that "terrorists have infiltrated Israel from Gaza" and asked residents to stay in their homes. Turkey's Anadolu Agency reported there are armed clashes between Palestinian factions and Israeli forces on the eastern fence of the Gaza Strip and that Palestinian fighters opened fire on Israeli boats near Gaza.
