11 Chinese military aircraft crossed Taiwan's midline, according to the latest report from Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense released Sunday.

The detected aircraft flew in the eastern part of the Taiwan Strait. In addition, the ministry also reported 6 PLAN vessels and 22 PLA aircraft. The government added that it continues to monitor the situation in the region.

The development comes as China conducts military drills with Thailand. In addition, earlier, White House Indo-Pacific Coordinator Kurt Campbell said the US military would conduct new air and maritime transits in the Taiwan Strait in the coming weeks.
