A bus accident in Yamong village in central Senegal claimed the lives of at least 13 people and injured around 40 others, as reported by the Senegalese Press Agency, citing a security source.

The cause of the accident was attributed to a tire blowout, leading to the overturning of a transport bus.

The most recent crash comes after the Senegalese government had enforced several measures to address road safety concerns in response to a string of fatal accidents last year.
