A 5.8 magnitude earthquake has hit central California, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported on Wednesday. The tremor originated at a depth of 2.9 km, with epicenter around 17 kilometers south-east of Lone Pine, a town in Inyo County.
Fortunately, no casualties or damage were reported so far.
Yesterday, a similar 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit southern Mexico, awaking a tsunami in nearby Pacific coastal areas.
