An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 hit Iran on Saturday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The epicenter of the quake was registered in Khoy County, 55 kilometers south-south-west of the city of Khoy. The city is home to 198,845, according to the data accumulated by the United Nations.
The tremor struck at a shallow depth of about 10.0 kilometers and there are currently no known casualties.
