An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 struck near Alaska's coast on Friday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake was registered at a depth of 26 kilometers at 10:53 am ET. The epicenter was recorded 84 kilometers south-southwest of Alaska's city of Adak, the westernmost municipality in the United States. The earthquake was followed by multiple aftershocks with magnitudes ranging from 4.6 to 5.7. There were no initial reports of damages or casualties, and no tsunami warning was issued by the US Tsunami Warning Center.
Meanwhile, another 6.2-magnitude quake hit 123 kilometers south-southeast of Panama's town of Burica, with its epicenter registered at a depth of 10 kilometers at 10:50 am ET.
