6.7-magnitude quake shakes Ecuador

A 6.7-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Ecuador on Saturday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The epicenter was 6 kilometers north-northeast of the city of Balao, home to around 17 thousand people, according to the latest data. The tremor struck the region at a depth of 65.7 kilometers and it remains unknown as of yet whether it resulted in any casualties.
