AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. revealed on Monday that the AMC Theatres' post-reopening attendance records in the United States have been broken for three days in a row last week.
The company sold over two million tickets globally on Saturday, a number unseen since Christmas day almost two years ago. AMC attributed the strong demand to the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, with the company's Chairman and CEO Adam Aron claiming that the movie's record-breaking debut "is significant not just for AMC, but for the entire theatrical industry."
AMC cut some of its premarket losses after the announcement, declining 2.30% at 8:06 am ET.
