Roughly half of the ballistic missiles launched by Iran allegedly "failed to launch" or otherwise crashed before reaching their target, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing three United States officials.

According to US officials, Iran launched between 115 and 130 ballistic missiles against Israel, with about half of them successfully intercepted, while the rest simply failed to reach their mark.

"So much for the vaunted ballistic-missile capability of Iran," one of the officials was quoted as having said.
