AirBnB Inc. announced on Thursday that its revenue in the second quarter of fiscal 2023 came in at $2.5 billion, jumping 18% year over year. Net income in the reported period skyrocketed 72% on an annual level to $650 million or earnings per share of $0.98.
Nights and experiences booked saw a yearly growth of 11% in the three months ending June 30, amounting to 115.1 million, while cross-border nights booked increased 16%. In the third quarter outlook, the company said that it sees its revenue at between $3.3 billion and $3.4 billion.
"Our Q2 results show the desire to travel and host on Airbnb remains strong. We had over 115 million nights and experiences booked and added a record number of new listings – ending Q2 with over 7 million total active listings," CEO Brian Chesky commented. The company's shares fell 2.78% in the after-hours trading following the release.
