Airbnb Inc. said on Tuesday it generated a record 103.7 million bookings during the second quarter of 2022, with a gross booking value increase of 27% to $17 billion.
Its revenue soared 58% to $2.1 billion to meet market estimates, with the company also having a record second trimester when it comes to net income, which soared to $379 million. Commenting on the full-year outlook, Airbnb said it expects the highest quarterly revenue in its history during the third quarter of this year, with revenue reaching up to $2.88 billion.
Airbnb's stock plunged over 5.5% in the after-hours trading following the earnings announcement.
