Airbnb Inc. was ordered by the Federal Court of Australia to pay a $30 million fine for price misrepresentation, the Guardian reported.

Airbnb's website displayed prices to Australian customers without specifying that the price was not in Australian dollars but in United States dollars. The court noted that 2,088 customers raised the issue with Airbnb since it arose, and found that "false or misleading" claims were made to approximately 70,000 people since 2018 by the company.

The company was ordered to pay $15 million in compensation to customers in refunds as well as conversion fees, and an additional $15 million fine.
