Akazawa: Japan can't accept 25% US car tariffs

Japanese Economy Minister Ryosei Akazawa reiterated to reporters before heading off to the United States for the seventh round of trade talks that his country can't accept Washington's 25% tariffs on cars.

"We have repeatedly explained to the US that Japan's automobile industry has made an enormous contribution to the US economy, and we intend to keep explaining this clearly and seek understanding," Akazawa said.
