Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stressed on Tuesday during a news conference in Brisbane that the death of an Australian aid worker in central Gaza's Deir al-Balah is "completely unacceptable," Al Jazeera reported.
Zomi Franckom, an Australian citizen, was one of four international employees of the World Central Kitchen (WCK) who died as a result of an Israeli airstrike. "The truth is that this is beyond any reasonable circumstances that someone going about providing aid and humanitarian assistance should lose their life," Albanese said, adding that the country's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade summoned the Israeli ambassador over the matter. Additionally, the country seeks "full accountability" over Franckom's death.
"Australians want to see an end to this conflict," he concluded.
