Alphabet's CEO Sundar Pichai announced on Tuesday a series of enhancements to its artificial intelligence technologies at its annual I/O developer event in Mountain View, California.
At the annual event, Pichai revealed that Google is rolling out AI Overviews to all users in the US this week after an extensive period of public testing since last year. Besides, he also stressed the expansion of capabilities in Google's Gemini Pro 1.5 model, which now supports up to 2 million tokens, allowing it to process extensive amounts of data, including text and video content.
According to Pichai, the company's AI technologies will be integrated into all its products, marking the start of the "Gemini era." The enhancements will also be applied to Google Photos, which will feature a new search function called Ask Photos. Additionally, Google is introducing Trillium, its sixth-generation Tensor Processing Units (TPUs).
