OpenAI CEO Sam Altman (pictured right) will demonstrate new artificial intelligence technology to White House staff, federal officials and lawmakers, Axios reported on Thursday citing a person familiar with the matter. Earlier this week, OpenAI launched a version of its ChatGPT AI chatbot for use by US government agencies.
It is unclear what Altman will show in Washington but the report said that "infrastructure investors and advocates will also see the tech before it's released publicly." OpenAI was blindsided by the rapid success of Chinese rival DeepSeek, which it accused of using OpenAI's models to train its competitor system.
