Amazon Web Services to invest $5B in Mexico

Amazon.com Inc.'s company Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced on Tuesday the opening of its regional arm in Mexico and a $5 billion investment in the country over the next 15 years. AWS estimated the project will add $10 billion to Mexico’s gross domestic product (GDP) and support over 7,000 jobs at external businesses annually.

"This launch marks a significant step as we continue to expand our infrastructure and deliver global innovation in machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and other advanced technologies for our customers," AWS Infrastructure Services Vice President Prasad Kalyanaraman said.
