Amazon.com Inc. is considering a new multibillion-dollar investment in artificial intelligence (AI) company Anthropic to boost its position in the AI market, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the talks.
The move would build on Amazon's $8 billion investment and keep it as one of Anthropic's top shareholders.
Amazon is reportedly aiming to compete with Alphabet Inc.'s Google LLC, which has invested over $3 billion, and counter Microsoft Corp.'s alliance with OpenAI.
