Amazon.com Inc. started cutting its staff in the human resources and cloud sector on Wednesday, CNBC reported citing a memo.
The notes to the employees, who are being sacked, were sent by Amazon Web Services CEO Adam Selipsky and human resources head Beth Galetti. These job cuts are a part of the previously announced plans, when the company revealed it will be letting go of around 9,000 workers.
According to the memo, the layoffs in the aforementioned sectors will be affecting the global workforce, with US, Canada and Costa Rica being the first regions impacted.
