Amazon.com Inc. announced on Monday it will invest an additional $660 million throughout 2025 in annual rate card increases and bonuses to its Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program to boost the network's further growth.
Amazon started the program in 2018 to include small and medium-sized enterprises in its operations and has so far invested more than $12.3 billion in it. The rate card refers to the amount the DPSs receive to pay for their shipments and invest in their businesses in general.
"These small businesses now safely deliver over 20 million Amazon packages every day across 19 countries," Amazon said in its statement. "[W]e anticipate that our latest investment will help DSPs increase driver pay to a national average of nearly $22.00 per hour, which is a 7% increase over last year."
