Former United States President Donald Trump's ex-attorney and former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani was disbarred in the Empire State on Tuesday after a court ruling found he made several false statements about the 2020 election between Biden and Trump.

The court in New York City disbarred Giuliani from practicing law and ordered his name stricken from the roll of attorneys in the state of New York. His law license was already suspended for repeatedly challenging Trump's 2020 election loss.

Giuliani was instrumental in helping Trump publicly challenge the result of the 2020 election, claiming that the Democratic Party organized widespread voter fraud in favor of the incumbent President Joe Biden. The latest court ruling is another blow to the former New York mayor and one-time presidential hopeful. His spokesperson did not yet comment on the ruling.
