Japan was struck by another earthquake following yesterday's 6.6-magnitude one, which was accompanied by small tsunami waves. The latest quake also hit the Izu Islands southeast of Honshu, with the Japan Meteorological Agency measuring a magnitude of 6.3 at a depth of 10 km.
"Although there may be slight sea-level changes in coastal regions, this earthquake has caused no damage to Japan," the agency said. It did not issue a tsunami warning.
