Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Monday signed a bilateral security agreement in Warsaw ahead of the NATO Summit in Washington.

"In the event of renewed Russian aggression against Ukraine following the cessation of current hostilities, or in the event of a significant escalation of the current aggression and at the request of either of them, the Participants will consult within 24 hours to determine measures needed to counter or deter the aggression," the text of the agreement reads. The accord also emphasizes that Ukraine's NATO membership is "in the strategic interest" of both Kiev and Warsaw.

"You will always be able to count on us," Tusk told Zlensky after they signed the document.
