Anthropic PBC expects artificial intelligence-powered virtual employees to be deployed as soon as next year, the AI company's Chief Information Security Officer Jason Clinton told Axios in an interview published on Tuesday. The employees would represent an upgrade from current AI agents, who can only focus on one task.
"In that world, there are so many problems that we haven't solved yet from a security perspective that we need to solve," Clinton said. He pointed to the amount of sensitive business data the AI workers would have access to and the possibility of their hacking into company systems. He stressed that AI companies should invest more in virtual employee security in the next few years, including making AI employees' actions transparent and creating a "new account classification system that better accounts for virtual employees."
