Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov (pictured) stressed on Tuesday that Ukraine becoming a member state of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is "unacceptable," TASS reported.
"Ukraine's accession to NATO is unacceptable for us under any circumstances. This is a threat to Russia's national security," Antonov exclaimed, adding that Washington turned a deaf ear to Moscow's "categorical rejection" of Ukraine's NATO membership.
Antonov stated that Washington's insistence on NATO adding Ukraine to its roster proves that "the only correct option for us is the unconditional victory of the Russian Armed Forces on the battlefield."
