Apple's subscription-based music streaming service Apple Music will be available to users of Amazon's Echo smart speakers from December 17, the online retail giant announced on Friday. It will join Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn that are already available as music streaming options for Echo users.
"Music is one of the most popular features on Alexa...We’re thrilled to bring Apple Music - one of the most popular music services in the US - to Echo customers this holiday," said Dave Limp, senior vice president of Amazon Devices.
Amazon has its own music streaming service, Amazon Music Unlimited, however, it doesn't come close to Apple Music in the number of subscribers. In October, it was estimated it has 16 million paid subscriptions compared to Apple's 50 million as of May 2018.
