Apple has significantly reduced production of its Vision Pro mixed reality headset, The Information reported on Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
According to the report, the company may cease manufacturing the current version by the end of the year, having built up sufficient inventory to meet demand. The Vision Pro, which debuted at $3,500, has not yet launched to the public.
Apple's move comes as it shifts focus to developing a lower-cost version of the headset, which is expected to launch by the end of 2025. The Vision Pro, first revealed in June 2023, marks Apple's step into the augmented and virtual reality market.
