Apple reportedly to add fees, limits for downloads out of App Store

Apple intends to implement additional charges and limitations as it prepares to permit third-party software downloads beyond its App Store, The Walt Street Journal reported on Wednesday.

The movement that will apply just in Europe would enable users to download software on their phones without needing to do it through the App Store for the first time and it will let the company go in compliance with the European law that looks for dismantling the closed iPhone app ecosystem.

Big firms such as Meta Platforms, Spotify, and others are allegedly getting ready with new download options for customers to avoid Apple's fees.
