Apple Inc. unveiled on Tuesday in a statement a new multiyear, multibillion-dollar collaboration with Broadcom Inc., which focuses on the development of 5G radio frequency components, including FBAR filters, and "cutting-edge wireless connectivity components."
The aforementioned filters will be produced in some of the most important manufacturing and technology hubs in the United States, one of them being Fort Collins, Colorado. "All of Apple’s products depend on technology engineered and built here in the United States, and we’ll continue to deepen our investments in the US economy because we have an unshakable belief in America’s future," Apple CEO Tim Cook commented.
The investment is part of a promise the company made back in 2021 when it said it will be investing $430 billion in the country's economy over five years.
