Apple introduced two major innovations at its WWDC 2025 event on Monday: a new visual style called "Liquid Glass" and a Foundation Model Framework that allows third-party developers to access its Apple Intelligence models.

The new "Liquid Glass" aesthetic, applied across iOS, macOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and tvOS, brings a more transparent visual coherence and immersive interface. "At Apple, we've always believed in the deep integration of hardware and software that makes interacting with technology intuitive, beautiful, and delightful," said Alan Dye, Apple’s vice president of Human Interface Design.

Meanwhile, the Foundation Model Framework enables developers to directly integrate Apple's on-device AI models into their apps. Integrated natively with Swift, the framework simplifies the process of adding generative AI capabilities to apps, with privacy safeguards and no cloud dependencies.
