Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said during a visit to Moscow on Thursday that the Russia-Iran strategic treaty, signed in January, strengthens bilateral relations and gives Tehran a "long-term view" of ties with Moscow.

Araghchi said Iran has always had close consultations with Russia on nuclear issues and has "exchanged views with both Russia and China and tried to adjust our positions," adding that he will address the topic with Russian officials during his visit. He also delivered a message from Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which touches on "important international and regional developments and bilateral discussions."
