Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday that Tehran is ready for "the path of diplomacy" in relations with the United States, but did not rule out other ways of addressing the bilateral issues.

"Path of diplomacy open for us, but we are also prepared for other paths," Araghchi said in an interview with RT. Furthermore, he stressed that US President Donald Trump's military threats will not have a positive outcome. "We have proven in the past that we do not respond to force, pressure and threats, and we resist threats and pressure," he emphasized.

Araghchi's comments come ahead of the second round of US-Iran nuclear talks in Rome. "If these negotiations lead to difficult conditions, we know how to defend ourselves very well," the minister concluded.
