Saudi Aramco announced on Friday that it signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with several American companies amid United States Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm's visit to Saudi Arabia.

The oil giant signed MoUs with companies including Aeroseal, Spiritus and Rondo. With Aeroseal, Aramco agreed to, "to explore opportunities to accelerate the deployment of Aeroseal's technology in the company's building fleet and elsewhere," as well as to "pursue joint testing of building ductwork and envelopes" across the kingdom. The agreement with Spiritus includes plans to "explore opportunities in the field of direct air capture," and with Rondo, it reached a deal to "explore deployment of heat batteries in Aramco's global facilities to reduce operating costs and support emissions reduction initiatives."

Aramco Senior Vice President of Technology, Oversight & Coordination Ali Al-Meshari stated the partnerships will help the company make progress towards its ambition to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
