Former United States President Donald Trump has been given until August 25 to "voluntarily surrender" to Georgia authorities after he was charged on 13 counts for his alleged role in an attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Trump and the other 18 defendants will be tried together, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said.
"Subsequent to the indictment, as is the normal process in Georgia law, the grand jury issued arrest warrants for those who were charged. I am giving the defendants the opportunity to voluntarily surrender no later than noon on Friday, the 25th day of August," Willis said. She added that she will propose that the trial begins within the next six months.
