Major stock indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded higher on Thursday after Japan's gross domestic product (GDP) report showed that the country's economy contracted in the January to March period.
Australia's S&P/ASX 200 gained 1.68% at 3:51 am CET. South Korea's Kospi Composite added 0.91% a minute later. Hong Kong's Hang Seng increased by 0.68% at 3:52 am CET, while, on the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite and the Shenzhen Composite increased by 0.23% and 0.30%, respectively and Japan's Nikkei 225 was up by 0.57% at 3:54 am CET.
The dollar traded 0.58% lower against the yen, going for ¥154.0135 at 3:54 am CET.
