Major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed during the afternoon session on Wednesday as investors continued to monitor the growing tensions in the Middle East region, with Iran claiming to have complete control over Israeli skies and targeting its air bases in the attacks, and the United States moving more of its fighter jets into the region. US President Donald Trump also extended the deadline for TikTok for 90 days.
Japan's Nikkei climbed by 0.74% at 7:06 am CET, and South Korea's Kospi advanced by 0.54% at the same time. Meanwhile, Hong Kong's Hang Seng dropped by 1.10% at 7:06 am CET, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 slipped by 0.14% a minute later. In mainland China, the Shenzhen Composite declined by 0.31% at 7:09 am CET, while the Shanghai Composite decreased by 0.12% at 7:10 am CET.
The dollar lost 0.20% against the yen at 7:11 am CET and sold for ¥145.0010.
