Major stock market indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed on Friday as investors assessed the higher-than-expected rise in China's trade surplus while remaining wary of the tensions linked to areas such as the Middle East, North Korea, and Taiwan.
Japan's Nikkei 225 declined by 0.21% at 7:11 am CET as the dollar stood flat against the yen to sell for ¥155.6415. A minute later, South Korea's Kospi increased by 1.00%. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.42%.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng decreased by 0.38% at 7:13 am CET. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite dropped by 0.27% at 7:00 am CET. Meanwhile, the Shenzhen Composite fell by 0.47%.
