Asia-Pacific markets traded mostly flat on Monday, except for Chinese stock indexes, which showed slight gains. Investors assessed Australian and Japanese PMI reports, while South Korea saw its Constitutional Court dismiss the impeachment of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, thus reinstating him as acting president.
Australia's S&P/ASX 200 and South Korea's Kospi Composite traded flat at 3:32 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 0.14% at 3:34 am CET, while, on the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite and the Shenzhen Composite increased by 0.16% and 0.15%, respectively. Japan's Nikkei 225 traded flat at 3:35 am CET.
The dollar traded 0.29% higher against the yen, going for ¥149.7585 at 3:39 am CET.
