Major stock market indexes in the Asia-Pacific region were above the flatline in afternoon trading on Monday ahead of China's gross domestic report and Japan's inflation figures, both set to be released on Tuesday. Investors will also gauge earnings reports scheduled for this week, including another batch of banks' quarterly results.
Japan's Nikkei 225 went up by 0.08% at 7:18 am CET. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite jumped 1.11% at 7:19 am CET, and the Shenzhen Composite increased by 0.20%. In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng added 0.38% a minute later.
South Korea's Kospi traded flat at 7:00 am CET, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 closed 0.15% higher.
The dollar rose by 0.31% against the yen to sell for 134.1820 at 7:21 am CET.
