Major equities in the Asia-Pacific region traded in the green after Bank of Japan governor Haruhiko Kuroda said that BoJ will resume significant monetary easing so as to help the country's economy to rebound from the COVID-19-caused slump.
Japan's Nikkei 225 climbed by 1.97% at 4:30 am CET, and South Korea's Kospi recorded a 1.24% gain a minute later. The Australian S&P/ASX 200 was up by 0.91% also at 4:30 am CET.
In mainland China, the Shenzhen Composite surged by 0.35% at 4:15 am CET, and the Shanghai Composite increased by 0.44% at the same time. Furthermore, Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose by 1.87% at 4:30 am CET. The American dollar traded 0.11% lower against the Japanese yen, selling at ¥126.9710 at 4:26 am CET.
