Asian stock markets traded higher on Monday, with the Nikkei 225 closed for a holiday. Investors will be monitoring the effect China's reopening has on its economy and on a global scale. As of Sunday, China no longer requires incoming travelers to quarantine, which is likely to cause a boost in passenger numbers in and out of the country. However, a number of governments around the world expressed concern about the possible spread of COVID-19 and are requiring negative tests for passengers coming from China.
Kospi Composite grew by 1.95% at 3:04 am CET, while the S&P/ASX 200 added 0.61% and Hang Seng jumped by 2.18%. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite gained 0.51% at 3:05 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite improved by 0.78%,
The dollar traded 0.30% lower against the yen and went for 131.7110 at 3:06 am CET.
