Asia-Pacific markets traded mixed on Tuesday, after data showed that China's second-quarter GDP grew by 5.2%, beating expectations slightly. Retail sales advanced by 4.8% in June, missing expectations, while industrial production went up by 6.8% in the same month.
Japan's Nikkei 225 added 0.12% at 4:30 am CET. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.41% at 4:32 am CET. South Korea's Kospi Composite was down by 0.24% a minute later. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose by 0.74% at 4:35 am CET, while, on the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite and the Shenzhen Composite decreased by 0.41% and 0.28%, respectively.
The dollar traded flat against the yen, going for ¥147.6900 at 4:36 am CET.
