Asian markets traded mostly lower on Monday following the preliminary Japanese PMI report for September. The private sector returned to growth, but the report pointed out uncertainty ahead, with business confidence at a 13-month low.
The Nikkei 225 plunged 1.97% at 4:35 am CET, while the Kospi Composite sank 2.11% at the same time and the S&P/ASX 200 dropped 1.30%. Meanwhile, the Shanghai Composite lost just 0.08% at 4:23 am CET, as the Shenzhen Composite was up by 0.78% at 4:38 am CET, and Hang Seng gained 0.31%.
The dollar traded 0.30% higher against the yen at 4:39 am CET, selling for 143.8065.
